On Saturday, October 25th the Fort Mill HS Band traveled to Spring Valley HS in Columbia for the South Carolina 4A Marching Band Championship.  The top 15 bands from Upper and Lower State competed for the title.

Fort Mill scored a 95.175 and won the 4A State Championship:

1--Fort Mill, 95.175

2--Ridge View, 93.125

3--River Bluff, 92.25

4--Northwestern, 90.65

5--Blythewood, 90.025

6--York, 88.65

This is Fort Mill's 6th state championship in Class 4A (03, 04, 05, 09, 12, 14) and record-extending 24th state championship overall (14 titles in 3A, 4 titles in 2A).  Irmo HS has the second-most state marching band championships, winning 11 titles from 1991-2003 in Class 5A.

The Fort Mill HS Band has finished 1st or 2nd at state finals for 33 of the last 40 years (1975-2014).

The band will present its annual Community Appreciation Performance on Tuesday, October 28th at 7 PM in Bob Jones Stadium at FMHS.

On Saturday, October 18th the Fort Mill HS Band traveled to Boiling Springs HS for the SC 4A Upper State Marching Band Championship.  13 Upper State bands competed for 7 spots in next week's 4A State Championship.  The top 8 Lower State bands also advanced to state finals.

 Fort Mill finished first
overall in Upper State 4A

and advances to next week's finals:

Fort Mill performs at 9:15 PM next Saturday (10/25) in the 4A State Championship at Spring Valley HS.
